Good morning,
I think that by now everyone knows that I have 3 grandchildren. I was a very young mom I had my daughter 3 day's after I turned 18. Being such a young mom I didn't really realize how important tradition was until I was much older.
Neither one of our grand children's other grandparents go to church matter of fact I don't even know if one is a believer. The one grandma takes the boys to the park almost every Sat. the boys look forward to this day. It is a tradition that she started a few years ago. So being who I am I'm thinking I wish that I could do something like that every week. Then as I was reading these scriptures I realized that I am doing just that.
Exodus 20:4-6
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
That is pretty powerful when you think about he will show love for thousands of generations! I can not think of any better tradition than that.
My husband and I live our lives for God. We go to church every Sunday and our 2 grandsons go with us every Sunday. This is a decision and a tradition that I hope will last there life time, and there children's life time.
Please pray that our granddaughter will be able to be a part of our Sunday's soon.
Also can you please pray that our son will start to come to church as well as his family
Thank-you
Our grandson Max will be having his surgery Monday he has a hernia, they have had to
postpone this surgery in the past because he had Pneumonia. So were praying his health will be good enough on Monday.
Thank-you and God Bless you.

Good post, Ginger. Yes, tradition is very important. I'm happy for all the traditions I've had in my life. I'm glad the boys go to church with you. I don't know how anyone hardly survives in today's world without having the Lord with them. I'm praying for little Max and for all you guys as you are an example to your family.
Hugs,
Charlotte
You and your family are in our prayers and especially at this time, Max. I'm sure you and your grand-children have a host of things that you do together that will become traditional. I pray that going to church will become something they do just like breathing. They don't get up on Sunday morning and ask, "Are we going to breath today?" If it's Sunday--we are going to church! Some day, if not already, it will become the natural thing to do. Hey, anybody can go to the park. Dogs do that.
I pray that your son will start coming to church soon so his little daughter can join you and also that Max is well enough for his surgery. I like Clif's comment; I pray going to church and loving the Lord will be as natural to them as breathing.
You are truly blessed to have your grandchildren live so close that you can take them to church. Ours live so far away and we probably will not see them this year.
You are doing a wonderful thing by taking them to church. What a blessing you are to them even though they may not recognize it now but they will.
Blessings to you, dear friend,
Cheryl
Some of the best memories of childhood are made through going to church with loved ones. May God bless your continued godly traditions and our prayers will be with your family. Thank you for sharing.
Heavenly Father,
Your word promises that if we pray in your will that we can have the confidence that you hear us and that or requests are known. Father, we know it is your will that thes children and grandchildren attend church, hear the gospel, and are converted unto salvation from Hell. Father, I pray that the lives of these two grandparents will so live for You and glorify Your name, that the children and grandchildren will be drawn to the light that shines forth, be convicted of their eternal condemnation, and fall upon the grace and mercy of the cross for salvation. Father, I also pray for the physical health required to undergo surgery for Max. Father, we give You all praise, honor, and glory and we know You have a greather love for these children and grandchildren than even their grandparents. We are trusting in You for their salvation.
Amen.
Ginger, We having something more in common. I too was a young married (at 17) and had my first child at 18. We have 7 grandchildren. I'll join you in prayer for your granddaughter's walk with Christ and for your grandson's recovery from surgery.

Hi Ginger,
Thank you for your post today. I have such wonderful memories of church when I was growing up and I will pray that your loved ones will be able to enjoy the same. You and your little ones will be in my prayers this day. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week.
Blessings,
Sandi
Happy Sunday Ginger!!
I would love to start that with my 2 grandsons as well. I will always keep your grandson in prayer for his upcoming surgery.

I understand. My two daughters go to church with their little families, but my husband's two children don't go to church and won't take his only grandchild (two-year old, Elisabeth.) We are praying for all of them. My husband is so distressed that they won't take Elisabeth to church. They live in Knoxville and we live in FL, so we can't take her with us. Only prayer can change these things, but that sometimes takes a very long time.
